BOWLING – Bahrain Club’s Abdulla Abdulkarim won the Bowler of the Month title in the tournament’s latest edition, organised by the Bahrain Bowling Federation (BBF) and played at Funland Centre’s lanes.
Abdulkarim was crowned champion after ending the two-day competition with a 234.75 average from a 939 pinfalls total after four games.
Abdulkarim had a high game of 238 pins in the third of his outings, headlining a consistent performance throughout.
His other game scores were 227 in the opener and 237 twice in the second and fourth games of his series.
Abdulkarim beat out Ziyad Al Awadhi of Um Al Hassam to the Bowler of the Month crown.
Al Awadhi had a 226.50 series and 906 total, posting scores of 237, 277, 190, and 202 in his four games.
Taking third place and joining the leading pair on the podium was Waleed Daraj of Al Hala.
Daraj had a 223.25 average from an 893 total – accumulated from his games of 217, 186, 245, and 245.
Abdulkarim’s Bahrain Club teammates Emerson Gotencio and Aqeel Al Awadhi both narrowly missed out on the top three.
Gotencio finished fourth overall with a 222.25 average and 889 series, while Aqeel Al Awadhi followed in fifth with marks of 215.75 and 863.
Rounding out the top 10 from the nearly 40-bowler field were Rashid Al Dalhan (214.75, 859) from Um Al Hassam, Francis Medios (214.00, 856) from Busaiteen, Khaled Sameer (214.00, 856) from Bahrain Club, Fawaz Abdulla (211.75, 847) from Riffa, and Sayed Moosa Hussain (206.25, 825) from Sanad.
Following the completion of play, the awarding ceremony took place, during which BBF secretary general Issa Taqi honoured the winners and handed out their respective medals.
Taqi praised the high level of competition, which reflects the continuous development of bowling in the kingdom.
He highlighted that the tournament represents an important monthly event for the BBF as it provides continuous opportunities for players to interact and compete throughout the season, allowing for their continuous development.
Taqi added that the BBF continues to implement its programmes and competitions according to its approved plan, in line with its vision aimed at developing the game and creating the best atmosphere for the players. He wished all participants success in their upcoming tournaments.
