Fourteen people, including 10 passengers and four crew members, were injured today after an Air India Phuket-Delhi flight encountered turbulence mid-air.
The plane experienced a sudden drop in altitude of roughly 300 feet but managed to land safely in New Delhi.

Local news agencies reported that the injured were treated on-site upon landing and some were then transferred to a nearby hospital.
An official with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, which is investigating the incident, said the captain reported a ‘severe injury’ to one cabin crew member.
A passenger aboard described the incident, saying, “The aircraft seemed to be moving normally, but suddenly the turbulence began. I saw my sister thrown into the air from her seat. My mother was knocked on her head. My phone fell. People sitting behind me suffered injuries. A male passenger had blood on his face. We thought we would die. It was really scary. I was shaking and crying.”
Air India, in a statement, said it is co-operating with authorities in the investigation, and that the safety of its passengers and crew remains the highest priority.
