Retired Brigadier Khalid bin Abdulla bin Saqr Al Moawda, who passed away on Monday, was a compassionate and truly humane person. I recall him with profound respect from his tenure at the Immigration section of the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs.
During that time, he extended his help to many expatriates who were found to be staying in Bahrain illegally, giving them the opportunity to leave the country legally and return home with dignity.
Brigadier Al Moawda always lent a patient hearing to those who approached him and, whenever he found them genuine, took the necessary steps to provide support. His kindness, empathy and respect towards people facing difficult circumstances will long be remembered. He treated all people with dignity and appreciation, regardless of their circumstances.
Throughout his distinguished 34-year career with various departments of the Interior Ministry, Brigadier Al Moawda was recognised with several medals and commendations in appreciation of his dedicated service to the nation.
On behalf of the many expatriates whose lives he touched, I offer my heartfelt salute to this great man.
May his soul rest in peace.
