Alba has celebrated the graduation of 312 students who completed its On-the-Job Training (OJT) programmes this year, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing the next generation of local talent.
A recognition ceremony was hosted at the company’s Oasis Hall to honour the trainees’ dedication and practical exposure at the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter.
The event was attended by Alba chief executive officer Ali Al Baqali alongside members of the executive management team and senior officials.
Despite regional challenges earlier in the year, Alba successfully expanded its training initiative across technical and corporate functions.
Enrollment rose four per cent year-on-year from 300 trainees in 2025 to 312 by the end of last month, with female participants accounting for roughly 38pc of the total intake.
Highlighting the smelter’s strong ties with the kingdom’s education sector, 99pc of the participants were enrolled from Bahrain-based universities and schools.
The OJT programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world workplace readiness, supporting national human capital development and Bahrain’s long-term economic growth goals.
