Drivers in Saudi Arabia can now face fines of up to SR300 (approx. BD30) for failing to maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
The Saudi Public Security warned that tailgating significantly increases the risk of collisions caused by sudden braking or loss of vehicle control.
The authority stressed that compliance with the safe-distance regulation is mandatory.
