The Saudi Ministry of Commerce carried out more than 40,000 inspection visits to markets and shopping centres across Saudi Arabia in September and October to check compliance with the rules governing discounts and sales for the 2026 season.
Inspectors verified that sales had licences on display, that offers were genuine and matched the approved terms, including discount rates, that price tags or electronic readers showed both original and reduced prices, and that exchange and return policies were clearly stated, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.
The ministry urged consumers to check the validity of offers and sales by scanning the QR code on the official licence, which shows the type and rate of the discount, its duration, and details of the business.—TradeArabia News Service
