A Syrian dentist operating in Jahra has been arrested on charges of fraud and embezzlement after allegedly tricking multiple patients.
Kuwaiti authorities stated that the dentist ordered dental supplies in copious quantities far exceeding actual treatment requirements.
He then charged patients for the excess supplies by misleading them into believing the additional medications were necessary.
Once treatment was complete, he allegedly returned the unused supplies to pharmacies and pocketed the cash refunds without informing the patients.
The fraud scheme involved sums ranging from KD120 (approx BD146) to KD150 (approx BD182) per victim.
Police arrested the dentist following an investigation that identified five affected patients.
Officers seized his dental equipment and purchase invoices as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
