UMM An Nasan Island beat Nurana Island 2-1 yesterday to book a place in the final of the RJ Investment Holding Doubles Tennis Tournament 2017 at Bahrain Tennis Club in Juffair.
In the best-of-three semi-finals, Ali Alasfoor and Isa Alsammak put Nurana Island ahead beating Aziz Janahi and Mohammed Ghulam 9-0.
But A R Janahi and Mattar Yousuf drew level for Umm An Nasan when Nurana Island’s Mohammed Mossawi and Venkat S retired while trailing 0-5.
In a thrilling tie-breaker, A R Janahi and Aziz Janahi edged out Ali Alasfoor and Venkat S 5-7, 7-4, 7-5.
In the other semi-final, Halat Nuaim Island beat Jedda Island 2-0.
Rico Cifra and Ahmed Jassas beat Ahmed Dhaif and Mohammed Sharaf 9-4 in the first match and Khalid Janahi and Karim Hajjar got the better of Khalid Qayoom and Salah Janahi 9-1.
The final is scheduled for Saturday, starting at 5.45pm.
