MANAMA: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has won the “Employer of the Year – Public Sector Award” for the Middle East and North Africa region (Mena) for the second year in a row.
TRA received the award at the 12th Human Capital Forum Mena held in Dubai, where institutions and organisations from around the region came together to recognise excellence in human resource management and discuss latest trends and best practices in the field of HR.
“TRA prides itself on its dynamism and steadfast commitment to maintain an environment where employees are motivated and empowered to achieve and to grow within the organisation.” said TRA deputy general director Shaikh Nasser bin Mohamed Al Khalifa.
“It is a core aim of TRA to be an employer of choice, which we’ve pursued by adopting a culture of excellence, and building on this with innovation. This award firmly solidifies our claim.”
Factors contributing to TRA Bahrain’s selection as winner included certification from the European Foundation for Quality Management, linking career development opportunities and succession planning with performance management reviews in a transparent manner, and providing an average of 200 hours of training and development per employee over the last three years.
“It’s truly an honour to receive this reward for a second year running amid challenging competition from our counterparts across the region,” said finance, information technology and human resources director Faisal Al Jalahma.
