A BAHRAIN-based beautician is hoping to offer a fully-paid for ‘wedding glam up’ for an underprivileged woman.
Australian Cris Caminiti, who owns Ubeauti boutique hair and nail bar in Hamala, plans to give away a new Jovani wedding dress to a woman living in Bahrain and is also offering to do the bride’s hair for free.
She will also arrange a makeup artist and a free photo shoot by photographer Jodie Baker.
“I bought two dresses during a sale and was going to use them as costume for Halloween as a Dracula bride,” said Ms Caminiti.
“I ended up giving one to my housemaid’s sister in Sri Lanka who was getting married and the other one I was going to keep for Halloween.
“I realised the dress was just too beautiful and brand new to spoil for a Halloween costume so I thought why not give it away to someone who can’t afford one.
“I will also do the bride’s hair because every bride deserves to feel beautiful.
“I am sure I can arrange a makeup artist also and a photographer.”
Ms Caminiti purchased the dress last year from a charity sale by Aisha Yateem Family Counselling Centre to raise money in support of women facing domestic abuse.
It was originally priced at BD400, but Ms Caminiti got it for only BD5.
Prospective brides are being urged to visit Ms Caminiti’s salon to try the dress or call her on 39989399.
