WhatsApp Co-founder Jan Koum is selling his 10 Porsche cars at a US auction on March 8 this year. "If I had unlimited time and unlimited garage space, I would never sell any of them," said Koum. The cars include a trio of yellow Carrera RS models and a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach which has covered only 32 kilometres.
The news that 10 of the world’s most sought-after Porsches are poised to hit the market is hardly surprising. Assembled by Jan Koum, a man with ‘profound love for rare Porsches’, the collection comprises motorsport-derived models from the last 25 years and is spearheaded by yellow air-cooled 911 RSs from the 1990s – a 964 Carrera
RS Lightweight, 964 Carrera RS 3.8 (one of 55 built), and a 993 Carrera RS 3.8 – all in beautifully original condition. Other highlights include a 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0, the only North American examplefitted with carbon-ceramic brakes, a Cayman GT4 in paint-to-sample Speed Yellow, and a 918 Spyder with the desirable Weissach package. Each of the three aforementioned Porsches has covered fewer than 500 miles from new. All 10 of Koum’s exceptional Porsches will be on sale on 8 March 2019.
