Kuwait: Three armed men kidnapped a Kuwaiti citizen from his farm in the village of Qub Al-Layyas in Beka'a of Lebanon.
The abductors shot the security guard in the leg before kidnapping him and taking him in a Mercedes 230 to an unknown location. He resisted their moves but failed.
Security sources believe that Al-Ajmi may have been abducted for a ransom.
Sources in Kuwait said that the abduction might be linked to a court verdict which was issued a few days ago condemning a Kuwaiti and an Iranian to death in connection with Al-Abdelli terrorist cell.
Kuwaiti Embassy in Beirut is following-up the incident with the Lebanese authority to secure the release of Al-Ajmi.
Retired Civil Defence Mohsen Barak Al-Ajmi is married to a Lebanese woman and lives in Lebanon. He had come to Kuwait two weeks ago to attend the funeral procession of his son.
The 48-year-old Kuwaiti returned to Lebanon on January 1. He has been living in a rented flat for the past four years with his Lebanese wife Eshtiyaq Al-Qaroot and three daughters, reported local Arabic daily Alanba.
