Twitter is getting ready to fill the role of departing head of media Katie Stanton with an insider: Nathan Hubbard, who most recently served as the company's VP of commerce, will take over leadership of the media team on an interim basis. The news of Hubbard's appointment was first reported by CNBC Monday; a Twitter spokesperson didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Before joining Twitter in 2013, Hubbard served as the CEO and global president of Live Nation's Ticketmaster unit. He joined Ticketmaster in 2006 through the acquisition of the music marketing company Musictoday, which he headed as CEO prior to the acquisition.
News of Stanton's departure broke Sunday, and was confirmed by Twitter's CEO later that day. Along with her departure, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey also announced that the company's head of product Kevin Weil, the head of HR Skip Schipper and SVP of engineering Alex Roetter are leaving the company.
Twitter was already scheduled to have a executive retreat in San Francisco this week, and will now likely be using this to talk about further organisational changes. On Monday, a spokesperson also told Reuters that it isn't looking to replace Weil.
Stanton meanwhile wrote in a post on Medium Sunday that she was planning to spend more time with her family, as well as support Hillary Clinton's presidential bid. She added: "The world needs Twitter and while I will turn in my badge in a few weeks, I will keep rooting (and tweeting!) for Twitter's continued success."
