Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Mariam Al Aqeel has become the first woman to hold the portfolio of finance minister in a GCC country.
Al Aqeel, Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs, is part of the new-look 15-member Kuwaiti Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shaikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Sabah, according to KUNA.
