BAHRAIN’S Under-14 girls’ national team player Lilya Sabkar claimed the best player award as Bahrain finished second in the West Asian Championship in Jordan.
The 13-year-old put in top-notch performances and went on to score seven goals to claim a well-deserved award.
Bahrain Football Association board member Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa said that Lilya’s achievement comes as a reward for the team’s effort as a whole in the tournament.
Shaikha Hessa also stressed that the current success of the team is the result of the women’s committee’s determination to take Bahrain women’s football to higher levels.
Shaikha Hessa also stressed about the importance of concentrating on the upcoming Gulf Championship.
She also spoke about the Bahraini players’ achievements especially that of Lilya, have motivated the committee to put in double the efforts to help the team scale greater heights.
