Glen Force of Esnaad Racing edged past MKAR Racing’s Litigator to claim the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup in the 16th race of the season held at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club racecourse in Raffa.
His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the eight-round race, held over the cups of Shaikh Nasser and his children – Shaikha Sheemah bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa – in addition to the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club’s cup.
Supreme Council for Environment vice-president and REHC High Committee deputy chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa also attended the race.
Glen Force, trained by Hesham Al Haddad and ridden by Husain Makki, pocketed BD10,000 in the eighth race (2,200m) held for imported horses three years old and above. The runner-up, trained by Haider Ebrahim and ridden by Daniel Tudhope, was followed by Victorious’ Jazeel and Ramadhan Stable’s Across The Stars.
Coolagh Forest of MKAR Racing clinched the seventh race for the Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup held over 1,400m and for imported horses three years old and above. It edged out KHK Racing’s Beauchamp Bagenal to lap up BD4,000.
The sixth race, also held for the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, was won by Sabreena of Victorious, which got the better of KHK Racing’s Al Rariq.
Al Adiyat Racing’s Powertrain lifted the Shaikha Sheemah bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, overcoming Subutai of Al Mohamediya Racing.
Al Afoo Racing Stable’s Aldurah claimed the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup in the fourth race, while Murjani of Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa won the Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup.
Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa’s Muqarin emerged victorious in the second race held for REHC Cup.
Kuheilan Afas 1695 won the first race of the day held for Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser presented the trophies of his cups for the eighth round, and the fifth round to winning trainers.
Shaikh Nasser was also presented with the trophy of the sixth round by Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, following the victory of Victorious Stable-owned horse Sabreena.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed his pride in translating the directives of His Majesty, the first knight and supporter of the equestrian sport in the kingdom, into achievements.
