A court has assigned an arbitrator to rule in a dispute case over a BD1.2 million damages claim following a partial building collapse on a resort island in Bahrain, reports Noor Zahra.
Lawyer Abdulrahman Ghunaim said the action, taken against a British engineering consultancy company involved in the property’s design, covers the cost incurred by the owner to carry out essential repair work.
The UK company has denied responsibility. The Cassation Court ruling follows three years of legal wrangling.
The owners had earlier unsuccessfully filed cases at the High Administrative Court and the Supreme Administrative Appeals Court.
