Global Travel Bahrain has been appointed as the ‘General Sales Agent’ for TPConnects Technologies’ acclaimed Iris platform in the kingdom.

The partnership gives the country’s travel agencies unified access to the travel sector’s computerised network content through a single interface.
Operating under the Alireza and Sons Group of Companies, the business brings more than 50 years of travel management experience to the collaboration.
More than 80 International Air Transport Association (IATA) and non-IATA agents were in attendance during a recent launch event held at Downtown Rotana.
Alireza & Sons Group of Companies managing director Faisal Alireza said: “The appointment gives Bahraini travel agencies access to airline content from more than 60 New Distribution Capability (NDC) and Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) sources, together with all three major global distribution systems, namely Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport, through a single platform.”
It also provides Global Distribution System (GDS) seat inventory and prices.
In fact, the Iris platform enables agencies to access private fares, ancillary services, configurable pricing and post-booking servicing, helping simplify operations and improve customer choice, he added.
