A YOUNG Bahraini boy was found to have infected six of his family members with Covid-19.
The eight-year-old’s father, aunts, one of the aunt’s husband and cousin – who all tested positive for the coronavirus – live in the same household.
The details were revealed by the Health Ministry as part of its weekly contact tracing report.
“Contact tracing of a symptomatic 15-year-old female citizen and her brother revealed four family-related positive cases across two different households,” stated the Health Ministry.
The cases detected include the index case’s parents, brother and cousin.
A symptomatic 22-year-old female citizen infected her mother and siblings, resulting in a total of four positive cases within the same household.
Meanwhile, of the 474 confirmed cases last week, 340 were registered among Bahrainis and 134 among expatriates. A total of 434 cases were registered locally while 40 were travel-related.
The ministry also reported 122 cases infected from close contact.
