THE Food Festival 2022 will be the first amongst a packed calendar of tourism and entertainment events unveiled by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) yesterday.
According to the calendar, the food festival will take place in March, alongside a Manama Gold festival.
“The events, to be held throughout the year, will contribute to achieving the tourism strategy’s objectives and to supporting event companies and various tourism facilities,” BTEA chief executive Nasser Qaedi added.
“They reflect the BTEA’s keenness to innovate while revitalising the tourism sector in Bahrain, boosting its competitiveness, increasing its contribution to the GDP and creating fine job opportunities for citizens.”
In April, the BTEA will be organising Ramadan Nights, followed by the Beach Festival from July to September.
In November, the authority has three events scheduled, including Tourism Awards, a Horse Festival and Bahrain Design Week.
In December, it will be holding events to commemorate National Day and New Year’s Eve, as well as a separate Festival City event.
The authority also has pop-up parades planned throughout the year.
“In March, BTEA will launch a wide campaign in the regional and international markets to promote all activities scheduled in 2022, including those held by the authority and its partners in the tourism sector, within the integration of efforts and strengthening of the tourism industry as a whole,” Mr Al Qaedi said.
