The Deputy King yesterday paid tribute to the late UAE President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising his active role as a statesman in furthering the UAE’s comprehensive development.
He also pointed out Shaikh Khalifa and His Majesty King Hamad’s commitment to advancing the Bahrain-UAE partnership.
This came as Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday arrived in the UAE to extend his condolences to UAE President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the passing of Shaikh Khalifa. He recalled the efforts of Shaikh Khalifa in bolstering Arab and Islamic co-operation.
HRH Prince Salman also extended his condolences to senior members of the Al Nahyan Royal family, noting that his thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
He also wished the UAE continued progress and prosperity, under the leadership of President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Shaikh Mohammed expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Deputy King, and the accompanying delegation for their heartfelt condolences and sympathy.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, National Guard Commander General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Survey and Land Registration Bureau President Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Crown Prince’s Court President Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
Upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, the Deputy King was received by the UAE Minister of State Shaikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, and Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UAE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
