His Majesty King Hamad has paid homage to the late Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who passed away last Friday.
His Majesty saluted the late leader’s legacy, lauding his nation-building role in his country’s development and modernisation strides, service to his people, the Arab and Islamic nations and the whole humanity, as well as his contributions, along with Gulf leaders, to strengthening the GCC.
“The late leader will be remembered by his dedicated work and achievements which will keep him as a role model in leadership, devotion and giving,” he said.
“Bahrain, its leadership and people, who grieve the profound loss, will always recall with pride the late leader’s honourable stances,” he said yesterday, as he offered condolences to UAE President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Presidential Protocols Hall in Abu Dhabi.
The King also offered condolences to the late leader’s brothers, children, the Al Nahyan Family and the Emirati people, praying to Allah the Almighty to have mercy on the deceased and lay his soul in vast paradise.
He expressed congratulations on the election of Shaikh Mohammed as President of the UAE, by the Federal Supreme Council, to continue the march of late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE founder and unifier.
His Majesty expressed deep pride in the long-standing solid relations between the kingdom and the UAE, noting that they embody the deep-rooted outstanding fraternal ties of kinship and love that have existed between the two brotherly countries throughout history.
The King expressed his confidence that bilateral relations will continue to grow in order to serve the shared interests of the two countries.
His Majesty arrived in Abu Dhabi earlier yesterday to offer condolences over the passing of Shaikh Khalifa.
