Egypt’s Mohammed Salah is officially the highest-paid Arab athlete and the 33rd highest-paid athlete in the world, according to Forbes.
Salah earned $45 million in pre-tax gross earnings between May 1, 2021 and May 1, 2022.
The Liverpool midfielder, who has a contract at Anfield until June 2023 earned an estimated $18 million in off-field earnings, including endorsements and memorabilia. He also earned an estimated $27 million in on-field earnings which includes wages, prize money and bonuses.
This also makes Salah the fourth highest-paid football player on the list, behind Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar respectively.
Salah is the only Arab athlete to be featured on the Forbes Highest-Paid Athletes List.
