A man in Kuwait returned to his apartment after a normal workday to find it virtually empty, with his wife and son nowhere to be found.
According to the complaint he filed at the police station, the man left for work as usual around 6.30 am and returned around 4 pm, shocked to see that much of his home's furniture, electronic appliances, personal belongings, and even jewellery had vanished, along with his wife and young son.
The man told investigators that he repeatedly tried to contact his wife but to no avail, until around 8 pm, when he received a WhatsApp message from her.
The message allegedly said that she had left Kuwait with their son and intended to begin legal proceedings to end their marriage.
After this revelation, the husband insisted that while the couple had disagreements, they were no different from ordinary marital disputes and did not justify his wife's sudden action. He told police that he did not consent to his son leaving Kuwait, and accused his wife of taking valuable items and selling them within hours before departing for the airport and eventually leaving the country.
Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that the case has been registered as a complaint and is currently under investigation.
