An American man fatally shot a Subway employee and critically wounded another worker after he escalated an argument about ‘too much mayo’ on his sandwich.
The man, who went into a Subway restaurant in Atlanta on Sunday to order a sandwich, shot at the employees after he became angry about his sub.
Police identified the worker who died as a 26-year-old woman.
He also critically wounded her 24-year-old female colleague it was revealed.
"There was something wrong with the sandwich that made him so upset that he decided to take out his anger on two employees," police Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr said.
"Believe it or not, it was about too much mayonnaise on his sandwich," said owner of the Subway franchise Willie Glenn to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Glenn said the manager on duty returned fire at the suspect, but was not able to hit him.
A five-year-old child who was present in the restaurant at the time was not injured in the shooting, police said.
Atlanta Police have arrested the 36-year-old man in connection to shootings.
