LEGAL action has been taken against several offenders in the Muharraq Governorate for violating the country’s labour and immigration rules.
The offences were uncovered through joint raids by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) in partnership with the Interior Ministry’s Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate.
It is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal practices, and improve the work environment.
It also showcases LMRA’s monitoring of practices that affect competitiveness, flexibility and justice in the labour market, not to mention the negative impact on social security.
The LMRA emphasised on the society’s significant role in supporting the government’s efforts in preserving the economic, social, security and health stability.
The public was urged to report any labour market violations and irregular migrant workers.
