Four-time Formula One world champion Max Verstappen will be competing in this weekend’s season-finale of the 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) Europe with a car operated by Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport.
This was confirmed today by Team Verstappen Racing, with whom 2 Seas have been collaborating throughout the GTWC Europe campaign which wraps up at Autodromo Internacional de Algarve in Portimao, Portugal.
Verstappen will be getting into the cockpit of the number three Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo as part of a two-car entry for 2 Seas and Team Verstappen Racing. The Dutchman will be sharing driving duties with Britons Ben Barnicoat and Chris Lulham, and they will be racing in the GTWC Europe’s Pro Cup.
Meanwhile, getting behind the wheel of 2 Seas’ number 222 Mercedes-AMG will be the all-British trio of Kiern Jewiss, Charles Dawson, and Reece Barr in the series’ Bronze Cup.
Action in the meeting gets underway Thursday with an official paid test and a Bronze test session. Free practice and qualifying will then be held on Friday, setting the grid for the three-hour race on Saturday, flagging off at 7pm, Bahrain time.
2 Seas are co-owned by Bahrain's Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
