TENNIS – Interior Ministry standing tennis committee chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa crowned the winners of the second Women’s Tennis Championship, which featured an under-14 girls’ category for the first time.
The championship was held as part of the committee’s efforts to expand participation in tennis and develop the women’s game, supported by the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad and the continued backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for Bahraini sports and the development of national talent.
The under-14 girls’ category provided young players with opportunities to gain competitive experience and develop their abilities.
The championship also coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Bahrain, highlighting the importance of women’s health and awareness initiatives, as well as the role of sporting events in supporting community engagement and raising awareness of social issues.
