THE annual Eid Open House, organised by the Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Centre, returns this year after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year’s event will be held on the second and third days of Eid Al Adha – expected to fall on Sunday and Monday – from 9am until 4pm at the centre’s premises in Juffair.
According to centre head Nawaf Al Rashid, the programme will be free of charge and includes several cultural and educational activities such as a tour of Al Fateh Grand Mosque.
“The Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Centre has been keen to introduce non-Muslims to its mission and main activities which aim to highlight the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence in Bahraini society,” said Mr Al Rashid.
“The Eid Open House will include educational tours of the Grand Mosque highlighting its Islamic architecture and the importance of the Eid festival in different languages.
“Guests will also be treated to the traditional Arabian hospitality and can wear traditional dresses to take pictures.
“There will also be a special corner for Arabic calligraphy where the guests will have their names written in beautiful Arabic calligraphy and many other activities.”
Mr Al Rashid extended an invitation to all non-Muslim residents and tourists in Bahrain to visit and attend the event to familiarise themselves with the Bahrain Muslim culture and traditions during Eid.
