Bahrain ran a dominant South Korean side ragged during their final group game of the FIBA Basketball Asia Cup 2022 in Jakarta, Indonesia, before losing 73-78.
Bahrain had overcome a slow start in the first quarter to lead their opponents 42-38 at half-time. But group leaders South Korea managed to pull ahead early in the fourth quarter and retained their lead till full time.
The result means that Bahrain, who finished last in the four-team group, are out of the Asia Cup. But their spirited showing in this game as well as the heartbreaking 1-point loss to China last Thursday means they can hold their heads high.
