MANAMA: The Information Affairs Ministry has decided to ban the screening of a movie being shown in cinemas, a ministry’s official source said, stressing keenness to preserve and protect good societal values.
A number of MPs issued a statement yesterday calling on the government to stop screening the film Thor: Love and Thunder for violating Bahrain’s Constitution which stipulates that Islam is the official religion of the kingdom and Islamic Sharia is the principal source for legislation.
The film promotes perversion, nudity, debauchery and lewdness, they said, adding it was banned in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Egypt and China.
