TOURISM Minister Fatima Al Sairafi met with Bahrain Chamber chairman Nabeel Kanoo to discuss means to enhance co-operation in support of tourism sector growth and its contribution to the national economy.
The minister highlighted the role of the private sector as a key partner in developing the tourism industry and strengthening Bahrain’s competitiveness as a regional and international tourism destination. She emphasised the importance of continued co-operation between the public and private sectors in advancing tourism initiatives and supporting the objectives of the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.
The meeting reviewed developments in the tourism sector and discussed proposals to expand co-operation with the private sector and increase the sector’s contribution to economic growth.
Mr Kanoo underscored the importance of the tourism sector in supporting economic growth, diversifying sources of income, and creating investment opportunities. He highlighted the significance of Manama Souq and traditional markets in enriching the visitor experience and showcasing Bahrain’s heritage.
Mr Kanoo also emphasised the importance of supporting business tourism, conferences and exhibitions, developing maritime tourism opportunities, and encouraging investment in tourism projects and innovative visitor experiences.
