HIS Majesty King Hamad will attend a five-nation Arab summit in Egypt today.
Hosted by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, the summit in the city of El-Alamein, northwest of Cairo on the Mediterranean coast, will also be attended by UAE President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, King Abdullah of Jordan and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi.
On arrival at El-Alamein International Airport, the King was welcomed by the Egyptian President and senior officials.

Following official reception protocols, His Majesty and President Al Sisi exchanged cordial talks that reflected the deep fraternal relations between Bahrain and Egypt, Bahrain News Agency said yesterday.
The King stressed the importance of enhancing co-operation to further promote strategic partnership and achieve common aspirations for more growth and prosperity.
He commended efforts by the Egyptian President to foster pan-Arab action and achieve its goals, and wished Egypt further security and prosperity.
The King’s convoy headed to Al Masa Hotel, where he attended its opening ceremony.
His Majesty, the Egyptian President, the UAE President, the Jordanian monarch and the Iraqi Prime Minister were briefed on the construction of the hotel and its facilities.
The King also attended a lunch banquet hosted by President Al Sisi in honour of the leaders participating in the summit. The leaders are expected to discuss the profound changes the region is undergoing in diplomatic, political and social terms, Egyptian media reported yesterday.
They will seek to strengthen diplomatic relations to address new regional challenges, it said.
Ukraine war-related energy and food crisis will also be discussed, an Egyptian government newspaper said.
Al Ahram, which cited a diplomatic source, said the dispute pitting Egypt and Sudan against Ethiopia over its Renaissance Dam on the Nile would also be up for discussion, as well as the conflicts in Yemen, Syria and Libya, and the latest Israel-Gaza round of fighting earlier this month.
Earlier, His Majesty was seen off from Bahrain by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
