A Bahraini man in his 30s, who caused the death of a motorcyclist, and an insurance company have been ordered to pay BD30,000 as compensation to the victim's family.
The incident happened after the defendant jumped a red traffic light on Shaikh Salman Highway.
The lawyer, Zaheer Abdullatif, who represented the victim's family stated that the victim crossed the traffic light as it turned green, however, the defendant sped through even as the light turned red on his end.
Severe head injuries resulting from the collision caused the death of the victim.
The lawyer filed the lawsuit at the Civil Court on behalf of the victim's family and demanded that the perpetrator and the insurance company be jointly liable for damages worth BD50,000.
