His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Parliament Speaker Fouzia Zainal and Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh yesterday paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth.
“Rest in Peace Your Majesty,” Shaikh Nasser posted on his Instagram account – a post liked by thousands of followers.
“Our deepest condolences for the loss of Her Majesty the Queen – An outstanding human being who loved her country and served it well,” he posted.
Ms Zainal said Bahrain recalled the outstanding qualities of the queen, who, “over decades, represented a global symbol, a reference for her nation, her people and the world in human values, tolerance and love, and gained the respect of the world”.
“Bahrain lost a great leader, who had a prominent role, and constant interest in consolidating the historical friendship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom,” she said in her condolences.
Mr Al Saleh recalled the queen’s outstanding efforts and her great contributions to the development of the UK over seven decades.
He praised her sincere endeavours to consolidate the historical relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom and to strengthen the long-standing bonds of friendship between them.
With flags lowered at half-mast, Bahrain is mourning the death of the British queen with people taking to social media to share their grief.
