A grand feast for more than 5,000 people was held at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) in Segaiya.
The traditional vegetarian spread served on a banana leaf was part of the association’s Onam celebrations, Shravanam 2022.
The meal prepared under the supervision of Kerala’s celebrity chef Pazhayidam Mohanan Nampoothiri featured 50 dishes – a gesture to mark the 50-year-long diplomatic ties between India and Bahrain, including five varieties of ‘payasam’ (sweet dish).
The feast was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava and attended by Indian and Bahraini dignitaries and guests.
The mega celebrations continued at the BKS with the festivities of the Indian festival of Navaratri kicking off yesterday.
