AMERICAN actress Leilani Shiu from a popular Star Wars TV show will be appearing at the third-ever Bahrain Comic Con, taking place on October 28 and 29 at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The actress, who plays Teeka in the new series Obi-Wan Kenobi, has previously appeared as a member of the Jawa species in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
The third-ever Bahrain Comic Con (BCC) is being held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and is expected to draw more than 25,000 attendees, according to organisers Dallah Promotions.
The two-day affair will also feature Paul Anderson who plays Arthur Shelby in the popular show Peaky Blinders and David Angelo Roman, the artist of cult classic comic book Rick and Morty.
The GDN is the exclusive media partner for the BCC and will be sharing news and interviews leading up to the event.
The BCC was last held in the kingdom in 2019, and featured guests including David Harbour, Alison Sudol and Pom Klementieff.
This year will see the popular convention return for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic forced its cancellation in 2020.
As in previous years, the convention will also feature the Artist Alley, cosplay competitions as well as local vendors highlighted in front of a global audience.
International exhibitors including Hollywood movie studios and video game companies will also be taking part.
According to statistics released by Dallah Promotions, the 2019 Comic Con was attended by teenagers and young adults aged 10 to 30. Of the attendees, 60 per cent were male and 40pc female. At least 40pc of them were students and 30pc were families.
In total, 20,900 attendees entered the event, of whom 12,500 came on the first day, and 8,400 on the second. In addition, 2,000 military and civilian attendees from the US Navy Base attended.
