Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr Mohamed bin Daina met the Minister at the Cabinet Office and president of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26), Alok Sharma, during his visit to the United Kingdom.
Dr Bin Daina affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to dedicating the necessary resources and exchanging knowledge and technical expertise through collaborative approaches to step up action on climate change and to build capacity in pursuit of climate security and building a sustainable and resilient future.
The two sides discussed areas of collaboration and joint efforts that focus on environment protection and combatting the global impacts of climate change, in addition to the adoption of a circular carbon economy that is anchored on sustainable and climate-neutral growth.
Dr Bin Daina also shared the kingdom’s readiness for fruitful participation at the upcoming 27th session of the annual Conference of the Parties (COP 27), which is scheduled to take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, in November this year.
