Bahrain’s national origin exports amounted to BD400 million ($1.05 billion) during October 2022, increasing by nine per cent in value when compared with BD366m for the same month last year, shows the latest data from the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA).
A report released by the government agency says the top 10 trading partners accounted for 77pc of the total national origin export value last month with the remaining 23pc claimed by other countries.
The report also includes data on balance of trade, imports and re-exports.
Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin, accounting for a value of BD85m, followed by the US with BD46m and the UAE with BD42m.
Unwrought aluminium alloys emerged as the top product exported during October 2022 with BD141m. Agglomerated iron ores and concentrates were second with a value of BD61m and unwrought aluminium not alloyed was third with BD37m.
The report found that the value of re-exports increased by 44pc to BD83m last month compared with BD57m in October 2021, with the top 10 trading partners accounting for 91pc of the re-exported value.
Singapore was the leading market for re-exports accounting for a value of BD19m, followed by Saudi Arabia with BD18m and the UAE coming third with BD13m.
Parts for airplanes emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD29m, followed by portable digital automatic data processing machines netting BD4m and gold ingots in third place with BD3.6m.
The report said value of imports increased by 11pc to BD500m during October 2022 compared with BD452m in the same month last year with the top 10 trading partners accounting for 68pc of total import value.
According to the report, China was ranked as the top exporter to Bahrain with BD65m, followed by the UAE with BD47m and Brazil in third place with BD45m.
Non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the top product imported into Bahrain with a value of BD65m while aluminium oxide was second with BD32.4m and parts for airplanes in third place with BD32.2m.
The trade balance, or the difference between exports and imports, showed a decrease in the value of the deficit totalling BD17m during October 2022 from BD29m for the same month of the previous year, an improvement of 41pc.
