Sustainability Forum Middle East (SFME) has announced a high-level speaker lineup for its upcoming roundtable, ‘Accelerating Energy Efficiency Delivery under Bahrain’s National Energy Strategy,’ scheduled for June 3 at the Wyndham Grand.
Organised in partnership with Tabreed Bahrain and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as part of SFME’s Decarbonisation Roundtable Series, the session will bring together senior officials from government entities, utilities, developers, banks, and multilateral organisations to explore accelerating energy efficiency goals within Bahrain’s broader energy transition.
The event will open with a fireside chat on “The Global Cooling Challenge: Advancing Energy Efficiency and Climate Resilience,” featuring United Nations Environment Programme Buildings and Cooling Unit Head Lily Riahi, moderated by BCG partner and director for Energy Pablo Avogadri.
A subsequent panel discussion, moderated by BCG project leader Lukas C. Jochem, will feature Tabreed Bahrain country manager Ali AlRumaihi, Bahrain Bay Utilities general manager Mohamed Elfayoumy, Bareeq Al Retaj Real Estate Services head of master planning Timothy O’Donnell, and Gulf International Bank head of coverage for the wholesale banking group Wesam Baqer.
Discussions will centre on the role of district cooling and integrated demand-side infrastructure solutions in curbing cooling-related power consumption and peak demand, while balancing supply-side investments with scalable sustainability commitments.
SFME’s regional series is supported by lead partners BBK, SAFA, and Tabreed Bahrain, alongside a prominent network of strategic, forum, and media partners driving the Mena region’s net-zero journey.
