Cabinet Affairs Ministry Under-Secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received International Chess Federation (Fide) president Arkady Dvorkovich, currently on a visit to the kingdom.
Shaikh Isa praised Fide-led efforts to promote chess worldwide, stressing BOC’s keenness to develop the sport in co-operation with the international federation.
Dvorkovic stressed Fide’s keen interest in further bolstering co-operation to hold joint programmes and championships.
The meeting was also attended by BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji, BOC board member Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa and Bahrain Mind Sports Federation chairman Dr Tarak Al Shaibani.
