A ROADMAP outlining major government commitments, policies, schemes, projects and services over the next four years has been unveiled by the government.
The 2023-2026 Government Action Plan, launched under the theme ‘From Recovery to Sustainable Development’, focuses on three priorities and 10 goals.
The three priorities are:
Security, stability and fairness
Economic recovery and sustainable development and
Competitive and quality government service.
It was presented to MPs during yesterday’s weekly session by Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who was deputised by His Royal Highness Deputy King, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
HRH Prince Salman earlier met MPs at the National Assembly Complex in Gudaibiya.
Present were Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam and Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh, alongside all Cabinet ministers.
The Deputy King said Bahrain continued to work in the spirit of one team, a solid approach embodied in the various tracks of national action.
He noted that development and progress of the country and its citizens stemmed from the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad.
HRH Prince Salman also praised the King’s speech at the opening of the first session of the sixth legislative term last week and his directives.
“We affirm the importance of strengthening co-operation between the executive and legislative authorities to reach the desired goals of strategies, plans and programmes in order to create quality opportunities for citizens in the present and future,” said the Deputy King.
“Our aspiration seeks everyone’s co-operation in order to achieve more civilisational achievements and to continue investing in national competencies for the good and development of all.
“The Bahrain team, with its will and determination, continues to contribute to achieving the aspirations of citizens, enhancing the sustainability of services provided to them, improving their quality, and pushing the wheel of comprehensive development in all sectors – with focus on innovation.”
He pointed to the constant keenness to consolidate the values of sustainability, competitiveness and justice to implement all development programmes to the highest standards. He called for constructive co-operation between the executive and legislative authorities, alongside the promotion of partnership with the private sector.

Creating more quality opportunities for citizens in a fields;
Establishing community security that supports development and prosperity efforts;
Developing the efficiency of social support programmes and directing to citizens in need;
Supporting efforts for comprehensive development through transformation into a productive and prosperous economy;
Continuing efforts to achieve the goals of the Fiscal Balancing Programme;
Building on the foundations of partnership with the private sector and enhancing it towards achieving further comprehensive development;
Protecting sources and natural resources and supporting international efforts to confront climate change;
Continuation of work to develop performance and quality of government services and its sustainability;
Enhancing Bahraini women’s progression and contribution in public life and to the nation's economy;
Providing the youth sector with the necessary support to enable it to increase its participation in development and achievement.
Five policy pillars:
Sovereign and legislative;
Infrastructure and environment;
Economic recovery and financial sustainability;
Community services;
Government performance and digital transformation.
