AN estimated 900 saplings and shrubs have been donated to the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) by Al Eslah Society’s Kaaf Humanitarian project as part of efforts to support the “Forever Green” initiative.
The plants will be distributed among three different sites – Al Wafa Park in the Southern Governorate, Busaiteen Park and the Amwaj Highway in Muharraq.
Under the initiative, being carried out in co-operation with the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry and the Supreme Council for Environment, 96 neem trees and 96 hibiscus plants were planted along Amwaj Highway in a ceremony which was attended by NIAD secretary-general Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Al Eslah Society president Muhammed Sayyar, Kaaf Humanity chief executive Adnan Al Sada and senior officials
