A READING project at the Aisha Umm Al-Moemeneen Primary Girls School has succeeded in improving the proficiency of Arabic language among third-grade students.
The ‘Tales of Grandmother Maymouna’ project, which comprised 50 stories, has enhanced the reading skills of the young, the school’s supervising teacher Amani Al Amer said.
“One of the most important goals of the project is to read stories with greater awareness and understanding, where students will be able to ask questions to their classmates after finishing the tales,” said Ms Al Amer. “It has improved their basic reading and writing skills as well as boosted their self-confidence.”
She added that students were looking forward to presenting their selected stories on topics including plant growth, animal species, and values of sincerity, co-operation and honesty.
