Abu Dhabi: An Indian businessman outbid all contenders, to purchase the Dubai vehicle registration plate bearing the number D5.
Balwinder Sahni, Chairman of RSG International Group of companies, agreed to pay AED33 million to get the iconic number.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Licensing Agency sold the plate during the 92nd auction which was held in Dubai.
RTA Licensing Agency executive director Ahmad Hashem Behroozian said that over 500 bidders took part in the auction, adding that final overall results would be announced soon.
