A woman has fallen to her death from the ninth floor of a flat in Cairo and was found with a handbag filled with cash, gold jewellery, and electronic devices.
Investigations into the fatal plunge revealed that the 39-year-old woman was a hairdresser at a local salon who had broken into her client's home.
The woman allegedly fell to her death as she attempted to escape through a light well by climbing between ledges and balconies, but lost her balance while fleeing.
Authorities in Cairo found that the deceased had established a friendly relationship with the owner of the flat, a Yemeni woman with American citizenship, whom she had met at the salon. The suspect allegedly knew that the flat owner and her husband were away on the night of the incident.
The handbag discovered next to her body contained a large quantity of gold jewellery, including 15 rings, eight bracelets, and seven gold chains, along with US $4,000, 5,000 Yemeni riyals, and 3,000 Egyptian pounds, as well as a laptop and a PlayStation console.
