A SCHOLAR badge ceremony was held to honour meritorious students from Grades VI to XII of the 2022-2023 batch by the New Millennium School, Bahrain at its auditorium in Zinj last night.
Grade X and XII students of the 2021-2022 batch were also honoured as the ceremony could not be held last year due to the pandemic.
Chief guest at last night’s event was Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava and guest of honour was his wife, Monika.
Present were school chairman Padmashri Dr Ravi Pillai, managing director Geetha Pillai, director Ganesh Pillai, principal Arun Kuumar Sharma, members of the school’s executive committee and parents.
Distinguished guests included Al Hilal Group managing director Ronnie Middleton, Bahrain This Month and Woman This Month publisher and Red House Marketing chairman George Middleton and Al Hilal Group business director Alison Lillywhite.
A total of 625 students were honoured with Scholar Badges, Scholar Blazers, Scholar Tie and Gold Medals, Honour Badges and mementoes for Distinguished Scholar.
Those honoured included Sama Umesh Walke, island topper in Science (Grade XII, 2021-2022), Kanya Bharathi, island topper (Grade X, 2021-2022), and Aditya Sundaram, island topper in Commerce (Grade XII, 2022-2023).
Mr Srivastava and Dr Pillai congratulated students, school staff and parents for the achievements.
