THE Cabinet has paid a heartfelt tribute to the four brave Bahrain Defence Force soldiers who were martyred in the line of duty.
Their sacrifices will forever be enshrined in the annals of the kingdom’s history, it said during a weekly meeting yesterday.
The meeting was chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Gudaibiya Palace.
The soldiers were buried over the week following a terror attack by Houthi forces last Monday.
They are: First Lieutenant Hamad Khalifa Al Kubaisi, First Warrant Officer Adam Salem Naseeb, First Lieutenant Mubarak Al Kubaisi and Private First Class Yaqoub Mohammed.
BDF forces were stationed on the southern borders of Saudi Arabia as part of the Arab Coalition forces participating in Operation Decisive Storm and Operation Restoring Hope when they came under the drone attack, despite a truce in hostilities being agreed.
The Cabinet extended its condolences to His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the people of Bahrain and the families of the fallen servicemen.
The session thanked the allied countries and international organisations who expressed their support during this time.
His Majesty yesterday received a telephone call from King Abdullah of Jordan who expressed his sincere condolences over the loss.
He prayed to Allah the Almighty to rest the souls of the fallen servicemen in eternal peace and to give their relatives patience and fortitude, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The board of trustees of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights observed a moment of silence for the four Bahraini martyrs at its regular meeting yesterday.
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al Asoomi, condemned the act of aggression and extended deepest condolences to Bahrain’s leadership.
