His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has highlighted Bahrain’s firm stance, reinforced by the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad, in supporting a two-state solution and upholding the Palestinian people’s rights to an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
HRH Prince Salman made the reassurance as he met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh.
He extended the greetings of His Majesty to President Abbas, who in return conveyed his greetings to the King.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister stressed the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza, the protection of civilians’ lives, the release of hostages and detainees, and the necessity of opening urgent, unhindered humanitarian corridors to deliver aid and assistance into the Gaza Strip.
He also underscored the kingdom’s irrevocable opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza from their land.
He underlined the importance of reinforcing unified efforts to prevent escalation and halt violence that threatens regional security and stability.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister added that adherence to a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution is the only option to protect and fulfil the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Later, HRH Prince Salman departed Saudi Arabia for Bahrain, after leading the kingdom’s delegation to the Riyadh summit, on behalf of His Majesty and in response to an invitation from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
