His Majesty King Hamad and Chinese President Xi Jinping witnessed the signing of a range of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries yesterday.

They will continue co-operation under the Belt and Road Initiative, expanding collaboration in infrastructure, economy, trade, investment, finance, new energy, advanced technology, agriculture, fisheries, education, culture, tourism and health to foster development and prosperity.

The agreements are:
1. MoU between Bahrain’s Finance and National Economy Ministry and Chinese Commerce Ministry to promote investment and trade. It was signed by Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Commerce Minister of China Wang Wentao.
2. MoU between Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and China Investment Co-operation (CIC). It was signed by Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Chairman and Chief Executive of CIC Peng Chun.
3. MoU between Bahrain’s Health Ministry and the National Health Commission of China.
It was signed by Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani, and Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the National Health Commission of China Lei Haichao.

4. MoU between Bahrain’s Industry and Commerce Ministry and the Chinese Commerce Ministry to enhance co-operation in e-commerce. It was signed by Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro and China Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.
5. MoU between Bahrain’s Industry and Commerce Ministry and Chinese Industry and Information Technology Ministry. It was signed by Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro and China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.
6. MoU between Bahrain’s Industry and Commerce Ministry and China’s Commerce Ministry, in implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan and 2035 Long-Term Objectives:
It aims to enhance digital economy and investment co-operation. It was signed by the Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro and Mr Wentao.

7. MoU between the National Space Science Agency of Bahrain and the China National Space Administration. It aims to strengthen efforts in outer space, organising training programmes in science, and space technologies. It was signed by Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Foreign Ministry Under-Secretary for Political Affairs, and Zhang Kejian, the Director of the China National Space Administration.
8: Co-operation agreement between Xinhua News Agency and Bahrain News Agency:
It was signed by Dr Shaikh Abdulla, and Fu Hua, the president of Xinhua News Agency.
9. MoU between the National Communications Centre (NCC) of Bahrain, and China Media Group:
It was signed by Dr Shaikh Abdulla, and Shen Haixiong, the president of China Media Group.
10: MoU between Bahrain Polytechnic and Peking University to enhance academic co-operation. It was signed by Dr Shaikh Abdulla and Gong Qihuang, the president of Peking University.
